Nuclear waste is waste made of radioactive materials. It happens when you have unstable isotopes (an atom with too many neutrons). The isotopes break down and turn into other types of material. You'll learn all of this explained MUCH better once you get into biology in high school, they explain radioactive decay to help explain radioisopic dating. If you want to see why it's harmful, look up Chernobyl on the internet.
