tips on how to make a poem?

I have a project that is due on march 23rd, but I haven't started doing it yet. Because its hard for me to make a poem and I think its very hard to make one...

any tips?

find rhyming words and end the sentences with them. If u can't think of a word or idea that rhymes then brainstorm or check the thesaurus. When u choose an ending word then find all the rhymes you can for that word. Go with the alphabet, words that rhyme which start with a, then try b's, then c's, etc.

Here's an example:

I came on this site,
where i wanted to be right,
so i answered a query,
to make the questioner merry,
he hopefully liked what i said,
and with inspiration he was fed,
and to his project success i lead!

:) LOL, i wrote this in 2 mins, it can be more thought out and creative if u take ur time.

its not hard writing a poem, its something that must come out of you naturally
you should not be thinking of how it rhymes, what you have to think about is getting the message out of you
poems are not written so that others could appreciate it, poems are written by people because they want to know the real " person" the real things that bother them of what they are really thinking

They key to writing anything is to write what you know. Whatever you can relate to. Poems are full of emotions, and full of objects that can portray emotion. Life a free spirit (emotion) can be portrayed as a tumbleweed (Object) that is blown wherever the wind fancys. poems come from your heart, not ours =)
go somewhere with a lot of peaceful stuff, where you can be inspired and have a clear mind, and just write inspirational thoughts that come to your mind and turn that into a poem! =D that's what i do and i have quite a few really nice poems.. trust me 10 days is enough, if you're feeling creative enough you can do it in like 1 hour tops!

something that ignites passion into your heart
a poem doesn't need to rhyme
it is about emotions
are you in love?
have you had your heart broken?
do you love nature?
your child?
running?
eating?
are you sad?
has anyone special to you ever passed away?
how do these things make you feel?
this will help bring out the emotion from your soul.
with this emotion comes words.
put it on paper and you have your poem.
