find rhyming words and end the sentences with them. If u can't think of a word or idea that rhymes then brainstorm or check the thesaurus. When u choose an ending word then find all the rhymes you can for that word. Go with the alphabet, words that rhyme which start with a, then try b's, then c's, etc.

Here's an example:

I came on this site,
where i wanted to be right,
so i answered a query,
to make the questioner merry,
he hopefully liked what i said,
and with inspiration he was fed,
and to his project success i lead!

:) LOL, i wrote this in 2 mins, it can be more thought out and creative if u take ur time.

Poetry is the art of language. It uses the elements of language as its focus: a seldom used definition of the word; the particular sound a word makes; use of a name for its meaning in concept poetry. There are many techniques in poetic composition.
If you are beginning and struggling with getting started you could try finding a poem you enjoy and versify it. That means you put your own words to it. Versification is a technique that helps you find the form or rhythm to set your own words to.

I like the technique of alliteration rather than rhyme.
That is when the same sounds are repeated in a natural rhythm whether it is repetition of consonant or vowel sounds.

IE. Yet, grapple the gruesome guerdon
Wretched gallery of wars grief
And seek rapport with Godliness
The substance of relief.

See how the g or the gr sound repeats? Also the sound of r whether it stands alone or is combined with the g sound?
It provides a musical quality to the poem.

Try putting your own words to an existing poem just to get you started. Relax and have fun with it , you'll get the hang of it!

its relatively common. It would not even require strict training. the stern regulations will come later. yet for now, I determine you would be nonetheless youthful. that's ultimate to no longer go up all in those "the thank you to write down poetry" books. try this. go take a seat some place quiet, with a bite of paper and something to write down with. Then word any merchandise you spot. Describe it via any potential. bear in concepts, the way how some human beings can not study poetry is with the help of the fact whilst they start writing it, it must be precisely like a poem. this is the biggest mistake. So, once you initiate, only describe that merchandise. the two a sentence, a pair of words or a unmarried be conscious. it is not significant, relatively. once you have complete describing it sufficient, prepare extra till ultimately you are able to truly image the article and describe it decently. It takes awhile to try this, so artwork on it.

try to find out first what mood do you write best, do you feel like writing alone or with a crowd, do you like listening to music or being with nature while writing it, or do you write better when youre mad or in a bad mood
its not hard writing a poem, its something that must come out of you naturally
you should not be thinking of how it rhymes, what you have to think about is getting the message out of you
poems are not written so that others could appreciate it, poems are written by people because they want to know the real " person" the real things that bother them of what they are really thinking
poems need to be honest, and never use cliche words and ideas, you need inspiration and a lot of observing around your world, around your place, around your world to be able to write,
to be able to make a really great poem you must first love the meaning of making poems

They key to writing anything is to write what you know. Whatever you can relate to. Poems are full of emotions, and full of objects that can portray emotion. Life a free spirit (emotion) can be portrayed as a tumbleweed (Object) that is blown wherever the wind fancys. So, what do you like, computers, cars, star-trek, find something you like, compare it to emotions, add some rhymes and there ya go. e mail me if you need more help. Good luck.

poems come from your heart, not ours =)
go somewhere with a lot of peaceful stuff, where you can be inspired and have a clear mind, and just write inspirational thoughts that come to your mind and turn that into a poem! =D that's what i do and i have quite a few really nice poems.. trust me 10 days is enough, if you're feeling creative enough you can do it in like 1 hour tops!

well you need some sort of inspiration
something that ignites passion into your heart
a poem doesn't need to rhyme
it is about emotions
are you in love?
have you had your heart broken?
do you love nature?
your child?
running?
eating?
are you sad?
has anyone special to you ever passed away?
how do these things make you feel?
this will help bring out the emotion from your soul.
with this emotion comes words.
put it on paper and you have your poem.

Read and listen to poetry
Find a spark
Think about what you want to achieve with your poem
Decide what poetry style suits your subject
Listen to your poem
Write down all your thoughts as they come to you
Choose the right words
Use concrete imagery and vivid descriptions.

try describing your topic without saying what it is. be mindful of the details around your topic. :) colors, sounds, sights, anything that can be connected to your topic. :)
