I am a junior right now and want to either get into UCI or UCSD. My GPA is fine, but I don't know which SAT 2 to take. I want to do something with science. I got an A in Honors Chemistry (extra point) and an A in Pre-Calculus. Do you think I should take the SAT chemistry and math 2c this june. Also, i am planning on taking AP chemistry next year, should I wait till novem, ber or december to take the SAT 2 Chem, and same with math 2c, since I will take AP Calculus next year

Yes! If you are planning to study in the science field, you should definitely take a science and a math SAT subject test. Your choice of Chemistry and Math2C is very sensible as you have done well in both subjects (chemistry and advanced math). I would advise you to register to take them this June and again in December as the college will use the best score of any test administration. Even though the application deadline is earlier, the UC college website states the latest date you can take the test is December so it IS permissible to do so. Just simply inform them that you will be taking the test at that time so that they can wait for the result before making their final admission decision. Also by taking the test this June, it will allow you to see what is covered on the test so that you will be better prepared for the exam in December if you need to retake it for a higher score. Your AP classes will further enhance your knowledge in these subjects, as well, by December. So, give yourself the best chance at the highest scores possible and take the subject tests twice! Good luck to you!

Actually, you can't take them that late because the application deadline is November 30, so October is good. Chem and Math 2 seem like good choices, however, make sure you prepare for them to get good scores.
All the knowledge you need to know for math 2 is already covered in pre-calc. I know because my sister took it this past Jan, so she was only half way through pre-calc. However, she prepped a lot on her own; she got a 770. Make sure you use Barron's to prepare if you want a good score. Same thing with chem, just go over the topics covered using a prep book and do all the practice exams. You probably can take them both on June 2, and if need be, you can take them again Oct. next year, and you'll have the summer to further prepare.

I got 2 perfect scores in math and reading, but my writing score was only 720, for a total of 2320. I only read this SAT guide, and that is how I got such high scores:

I recommend this guide to anyone seeking to get a higher score to get into a first choice college.
