Is it better to get higher values of the percent composition of calcium in the calcium supplement or lower ones, because mine are coming to be around 18 % and I m not being able to explain them clearly for my discussion.

If it is a Calcium supplement then a higher percentage of calcium would be better, all other things being equal. If the supplement were pure CaCl2 then the percentage calcium would be about 36% (Ca = 40, Cl = 35.45; 40 + (35.45 x 2) = 110.9; 40/110.9 = .3607, .361 x 100 = 36.1%). If the supplement were pure calcium hydroxide, Ca(OH)2, then the percentage calcium would be about 53%. If it were pure lime, CaO, then the percentage calcium would be about 71%.If it were pure calcium acetate, Ca (C2H3O2)2, then there would be about 25% calcium. Not all these compounds may be suitable supplements though due to solubilities, taste, effect of the anion etc.
