I contact is a way of connecting with people no matter what you do. Some people are too nervous to have eye contact, so, it shows confidence. Also,some people get nervous when people are just staring in a space behind them. If you think about it, if you are talking to them with eye contact, that assures that your head isn't down mumbling.

There is tremendous research that studies eye movement during dishonesty and an experienced interviewer can most likely spot a person not telling the truth. Eye contact can also indicate confidence and knowledge.

Eye contact can tell yr interviewers a lot of things about the person. So it`s very important to look at them when u answer their questions.
Unsincere and nervous persons cannot look people in the eye for they are afraid they might show their true colours.

During the interview
Offer a firm but not overwhelming handshake. Be sure to make eye contact.

Show self-confidence. Make eye contact with the interviewer and answer all questions clearly and directly.

Sit up straight or slightly lean forward, keep your hands on the arms of your chair or folded in your lap.

Demonstrate your enthusiasm for the job by asking questions. Show a sense of energy and determination.

Don't discuss compensation unless the interviewer brings it up.

Remember to listen.

It is said that it becomes difficult to lie when you look in the eyes of other person and easier to read the expressions made when certain question are asked. So until unless you are emotionless or a regular emotional disguiser it gets hard to lie through an eye contact especially when you are in the interview for the job you want
