i loved calvin and hobbes!!!!!!!!!!!!! started with 'the essential calvin and hobbes' followed by 'something under the bed is drooling' i have saved every email that have the snowmen theme!!!

one of the strips still touches me to this day. it was a sunday edition. the perfect thing about this one is that NOT ONE SINGLE WORD WAS USED!! it was when it was snowing out, and calvin came in to tell his dad to play with him outside. the father was busy working and merely told him he was busy and couldn't (REMEMBER, NO WORDS, JUST VISUALS!!!) a saddened calvin went outside just kicking the snow, dad sees him, sighs, realizes what he needs to do, and surprises calvin outside. the two spend some serious time playing, fighting, and thrashing the snow. it's time for bed, and dad tucks calvin in, kisses him and grudgingly goes back to work. no regrets, as he knew it was important for calvin to spend time with him.

one of the very few, if not one, emotional ones!!!

this is one of the best strips ever!!!!!! hard to replace, now foxtrot is practically done for too! maybe i am the jinx. remember something called bloom county

I'm an aspiring comic strip artist and Calvin & Hobbes and The Far Side shaped my world when it comes to writing and cartooning. I feel indebted to both Bill Watterson and Gary Larson.

right here. huuuge fan of the series. my all time favorite pick for best comic ever by miles. the great thing about C&H was that it never started to stumble and drag itself. it's sad that it ended when it did (i was still a kid, so losing your favorite comic in the paper sucks pretty bad), but i'd rather have it end on a high note than years later when it's old and tired. but i'm one of those who think that that would never have happened =D
