Not at all.

I dislike some of the values of your government, and I can't comprehend some of the ignorance I encountered when visiting, however I love your country and I have made some WONDERFUL friends who are American.

Having said that, I'm sure that there are people who can turn what I just said around on to Australians.

It's not about the country, it's about the person.

The only thing that I DON'T like about the USA is the over all general belief that it is the best place in the world. Patriotism is one thing, but some people were just so insulting.

Well, we've killed tens of thousands of innocent people in Iraq for bush's oil pals. We've brought back torture and our military acknowledged we tortured to death dozens of innocent people.

We've dragged our feet on dealing with climate change and atmospheric pollutants. We overthrown dozens of democratically elected govts around the world - Iran in 1953, Venezeula over and over in the early 1900s, Mexico, Chile, and more.

There is good reason for the world the dislike many of the policies of the American govt. It's not jealousy to not like to bombed. It's not cause you're goliath that people don't like you overthrowing their democratically elected govts.

When there is a disaster in the world, American aircraft are in the air delivering food, medical supplies, shelter, and rescue teams. We also shell out relief money to the world by the billons of dollars. And as soon as things are ok, those we gave to go back to hating us and condemning us.

The world wears our clothing, drives our vehicles, uses our technology, but yet they condemn us for just about anything they can think of.

When the world gets in a jam, US troops sacrifice their lives to free nations from tyranny. Once we're there, the world condemns us for "invading" other countries.

The world loves our money and freely takes it. But when we're not shelling it out to them, we're mud under their feet.

The world claims to hate us, but yet millions each year flock to our shores to become citizens. Go figure.

Nations of the world wave our flags when we are there to save them. But as soon as we leave, they light our flag on fire and desecrate it.

Does the world hate us? Most of them. Do we care? Hell no.

Often it's just our leaders, but there is that "ugly American" stereotype that often gets reinforced by dumb tourists pushing their supposed clout around and trivializing the local's culture, language, customs, etc.
