I am an avid fan of true crimes and documentries but I always wonder ....who cleans the place where the death takes place? If for example someone died out on the street or an accident?

There are actually crew who do this.. I forget what they are called, but they dont work for the police typically.. they are like private contractors. They use Enzyme based products to remove blood and things.

It's only certain companies that are licensed and qualified to do the clean up .where i live in Canada Ontario it's a company called "Service Master" they go in dressed up with Haz-Mat suits and use cleaners that are so expesive and controled that every oz they use must be accounted for..For a murder or natural death to happen in a one bedroom appartment it cost minimum 5000 dollars just for them to walkthrough the door ..after that they need to stip the place clean ..they must remove everything in the place right down to the drywall and even remore the kitchen cuboards and even the electrical outlests.and this is all due to the fact that there may be some bacteria in these places..once they have the place stripped down to nothing left but concrete and cement floors.they treat the walls and floors with an acid so stron that if can remove human skin just with the fumes..so it's a very dangerous job.

If it is in a public area (e.g. roads or buildings owned by the city etc), the waste disposal contractors will clean the place after the police investigators are through and have removed all evidence required (e.g. body, weapon, vehicle etc). The bill is paid by the city/town council.

If it is in a private area (e.g. house), the owner has to clean it up and contractors are usually called in. The bill is paid by the owner unless he manages to sue the responsible party (e.g. murderer).

Private contractors. There's going to be a movie out this year on the subject:
