my short answer is not really.
my longer answer would be I need more informaiton. you see if you are flying a little piper cub with one engine and a small aircraft, I'd be more concerned than flying in a 747 with 4 engines.
most aircraft (with multiple engines) have built in redundancy meaning they could lose one, two or even 3 engines and manage to get to safety. If in a small plane with one engine... well it fails and you see how well you glide.
Over the open ocean would be an issue if you have to crash land but not insurmountable
But if the plane breaks up at altitude then it doesn't matter if it is over the ocean or the land.

I used to be. then i got stationed in Hawaii, and had to fly ( my first flight across the ocean) i was pretty scared, just becuase of the mere fact that if there were any problems, there would be no place to land; I've now made the trip back and forth about 3 times, and it gets less scary everytime. it sounds stupid, but the more you do it, the less scary it is.

No, for some reason i do no longer likely get that scared on planes. only as quickly as using fact they instructed us we've been going lower back using mechanical problems, and it stored sounding like the planes' engine became slicing off on the way.

No, I love the thrill of flying. The oceans cool, it's soooo large you can't tell how high up you are.

Water is actually better then land for crash landings. A bad landing on ground will start fires and explosions. I'd worry more about the bad airline food and losing at least one bag of luggage

a past travel companion would tell me how if the plane were to malfunction they are so big they would coast down to the water and "land" on the water. then i would ask, what if there is an explosion, and this person would say, then we'd be dead before you care. lol
