Really Simple Syndication - it is an XML format designed to be easily read, parsed and sorted by a computer. The best way to think of it is that an HTML page is designed for humans to comprehend. We know the title of the page by the color, size, and position of the text. The computer, however, does not know this. So RSS formats the data and labels it all as a computer needs.

Most forum/bbs packages have an RSS module available. The module will simply be an XML listing of forum posts as they are made, so that computers can easily check the RSS feed for updates and changes. Check the vendor and community for your forum package to see if anyone has released one.

It means Really Simple Syndication. It's a way in which data is presented online in a very simple way, without all the pictures and ads and stuff.

It allows you , for example, to get the news headlines in a timely fashion by presenting links in a list format. this way, you get to see all the news head lines on a singles small page/window/pane.

as to how to put it on forum, I don't know. Hopefully someone can shed light on it.
