Well most situations other than the mall! I don't know what to do about it, I started feeling like this ever since the beginning of high school. I'm a leadership student at my school and have no problem with public speaking...so I don't know why I only get nervous outside of school. To tell you the truth, it's usually around guys or girls who I think are better, or prettier than me. I'd really like it if some guys replied to this so I could get a different prespective. Thanks...please help me.

I think you are a little bit self conscious because you worry about how other people look and think of yourself as not good enough. You should stop thinking about others around you and just tell yourself that you are beautiful. It may also help to walk with a small group of friends or maybe just one friend when at the mall. Sure, there will always be prettier girls and guys, but the prettiest people, do the ugliest things.

Well, I won't classify as a "guy" for you as I'm 57 and not in the running - LOL -
but I think we all have certain places where we are more vulnerable than others. I am known as outgoing too, but am extremely timid at calling someone on the phone. I only phone someone after a tremendous inner struggle.
Usually, it is because of some experience, perhaps partially forgotten. Is it possible that you were once humiliated or rejected by peers in a mall?

Try not to differentiate yourself from others. It stands to figure that when you're out in public, you don't scope the immediate vicinity in order to pick and criticise all those within a certain radius of you. You have your own agenda, and things to do and think about. You need to remember that everyone else is of the same mind as you - they're there for their own reasons and certainly not there to judge you. So any feelings of inadequacy should dissipate. No-one is judging you. Be yourself and relax.
