money is a source of power. In economics its called purchasing power. we also look at it in terms of GDP per capita (per households). Affluency, especially in its extreme, is a definite source of power (eg. most politicians are wealthy, it provides a means to influence).

Money is definitely a source of power which can be used or abused. Think of Oprah, Bill Gates and others how use their money to make decisions that affect thousands of people positively. Money is a tool to be used and shouldn't be something that uses you. Money gives you the opportunity to choose where you live, eat, sleep, and enjoy life personally as well as helping you help others. It is definitely needed and our lives to differing degrees based on what one desires to do with it. It is just as powerful to someone who is trying to survive from day to day as it is to someone who builds schools in Africa for underpriviledge generations. It's worth to you must be determined by your personal goals, visions and dreams. JL

Kind of a no-brainer doncha think? What about all those sultanates that have oil dollars? They have power. How about the old boy network that tends to run this country. They have money, and guess what, they have power. Yes, money is power. But money and power aren't everything. I wouldn't want to trade places with, for example, George Bush. He's got both.
