Your liquid foundation most probably contains 'light reflecting particles'. These are very popular at the moment, particularly if your foundation advertises anit-aging effects or glow effects. The particles reflect the light of a camera flash rather dramatically - be especially careful of products like YSL's touche eclat - it can make panda eyes if you apply too liberally.
Basically, you may want to consider investing in new foundation, one without the mica content (the reflecting particles). Good luck!

While there's definitely a chance of having the wrong color foundation/powder, if the products have SPF in them, that is likely to be a big reason as to why you're turning so white in photos. SPF reflects light like no other, and this can cause that ghost-effect that you're talking about.
Or it could also be a case of a bad photographer with too much flash going on ;) I'm not sure how close of a photo you're taking, in what conditions, etc. so it truly could be the result of a poor camera, conditions, or photographer. A lot of cameras can't handle using flash when taking closer shots of faces, and they will tend to wash out the colors (turning them white).

Sounds like the liquid might be the wrong color...or if it has any kind of shimmer in it, it could reflect light from the flash, making your face appear lighter. A powder is more sheer anyway, so it's not going to stick to your face as well and last as long. Are you using just 'face powder', or a powder foundation? I suggest using a powder foundation as opposed to liquid. It looks more natural, it's not as messy, you don't have to apply another layer of powder over it as you might with a liquid, and it's not as thick, so it won't feel like a mask or possibly clog your pores as much. If you must use a liquid, try using a sheer liquid foundation or a super-blendable one like L'oreal's.

I have the same problem!
I think it depends if the foundation is really 'mattified', i.e. covers up all your imperfections.
I think a bronzer would be the best way to prevent your face from being stark white in photos but I'm not 100% sure. Try it and see.
Or you could switch to translucent make up, or just a tinted moisturiser instead of the foundation + bronzer combo.

I get it sometimes too. Its because the flash and lighting messes it up. Test around with the right setting on your camera to get a better lighting. And don't worry. 99% of the time its the camera lighting and that is not how you actually look.

The make up that you are wearing is too light for you complexion, try matching the make up just a little darker than your skin.
