The Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly are two of the best. Flogging Molly is a more Irish inspired band with electric fiddles and bagpipes. Check out Devil's Dance Floor if you're looking at them for a great track. Dropkick is a Boston Irish punk band. They're great if you like hard music with bagpipes thrown in. They cover a lot of traditional Irish songs along side their original stuff. I would give their St. Patrick's Day live album a listen. They'll pump you up for the party. Barroom Hero is their classic track, and I know a lot of folks who want their rendition of Amazing Grace played at their funeral.

Lots of great music out there.
Although NOT traditionally St. paddy's music, I really dig the Afro Celt Sound System...they are an excellent group of musicians that bring Irish music to new levels on a global scale.
Check out their album "Seed" - or any of their earlier work for some of the best tunes.

Jeff & Mychael Danna do some excellent work. The Blood of Chuchulainn(featured in The Boondock Saints) is an excellent example.
