American Idol.com?

Question

I have Two questions about American Idol contestants, First Phil Stacey is currently in the U.S.Navy, how is he getting so much time off from his Military duties? Second question is why does Melinda Doolittle nearly always perform dressed in Men's clothing, and complains about wearing Dresses and High Heels, could she be gay? And I would like to make a comment to American Idol, sending so much support,money and aid to Africa? The name of the show is AMERICAN IDOL, NOT AFRICAN IDOL, turn your efforts to the children of America, seems like every one wants to help the children of Africa, Is the reason there are so many poor children in Africa, is because the Adults don't know how to control having children, and then cry and expect people of the World, to raise and support them!

i feel you there. they need to focus on the issues here not in other countries. not that its wrong to help other people out but when we have problems here i think they should be helped first.

I don't know about Phil. I'm sure he's got something worked out if he's still in the military and as far as Melinda being gay, who knows? Maybe it's just her dress, there's a lot of straight women who dress that way and don't like fancy dresses and high heels. About the only women I know who do like high heels are the ones that wear them all the time. If you don't they are uncomfortable. As far as the money goes yes they are also raising it for American children as well. But I agree with the person who said children are children, they all need help. And it doesn't hurt to help another country if you're also taking care of your own. You never know if a place is going to be a future ally you may need. I think American Idol is doing a good thing.

That's a good question about Phil Stacey, I was wondering that myself. Maybe he is not on active duty or something.

I really don't think Melinda is gay, but if she is, that's fine.

American Idol is also spending money to help children in America, especially the ones who were effected by Katrina.

The way I see it is, children are children. It does not matter if they are American, African, Chinese, or whatever. If you have 2 children, one American and one African, and the African one is suffering much worse conditions, and you can only help one, I would vote to help the one in the worse condition. The goal is to alleviate the most suffering. It is just prejudiced to choose to help the one that shares your nationality only because he or she shares your nationality - especially when someone of another nationality is suffering worse.

ok, just people are on national TV does NOT make them things to speculate on, who cares if she is gay? she has a nice voice. im pretty sure Bush watches AI and um...maybe when he saw him on TV he was like hm......... some soldiers get breaks for five months which might explain it also. and america is one of the richest countries in the world and has many great people or IDOLS who are generous and care about the people in africa. since if you really think about it, scientist estimate the first humans lived in africa, so it is like giving money to your parents. and most of all, AMERICAN IDOL IS OVER RATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
