I'm a junior this year and I'm really nervous because I'm taking the SAT in May. I've been prepping myself for almost two weeks(about more than a month to go!) now. I was wondering if based upon what you're about to know about me would you be able to predict my score...

4.0 GPA, rank: 18/549.
Good reading comprehension, vocab is good
Dislikes math, but does really well in math classes
Capable of learning independently
Learns quickly, quite motivated
Works hard

What are the changes of me scoring a 2000 or higher on the SAT and if there are no chances at all, what should i do to achieve this score?

When I worked at B&N i got alot of questions on what is the best study guide for tests. Honestly, their are none. As far as knowing the material the only way to do that is pay attention in school in the years leading up to the test, it sounds to me like you've done this. All the study guides do is get you used to the test format. This will help you from making the mistakes like marking the wrong bubble on accident. since you have a month to prepare I would suggest focusing on your weak areas. Don't trust your judgement in finding the weak areas. Take a practice test online or from a book. For vocab. work on learning root words, for math ask a friend or teacher to give you timed quizes, or go to your local college book store and pick a a math workbook and time yourself doing the exercises. For grammer get a copy of Elements of Style by William Strunk and E.B. White, this is probably the mest english grammer book availible and it's required for most college english classes so you might as well get it now and save your self the trouble of reading it later. For reading comprehension, read, just go to your local book store and grab a book, any book, fiction, history, biography, whatever, read it and understand it. Work on all these areas, but put your main focus on your weak points. Good Luck.

Easy answer: Take a practice test. They are available in books anywhere, or on-line at collegeboard.com.

No one can predict what your score will be. My sister had a 4.0 and got just over 1500, while my brother (who took it a few years ago so I've translated his score) had a 3.2 GPA and got an 1800.

Taking a practice test will let your know your overall score range, as well as areas you need to improve. Good luck!

And remember, a 2000 is a very high score. Don't be disappointed if you're not there on the 1st try. That's what studying and taking the test more than once are for :)

you mustn't agonize that plenty approximately SAT rankings for the reason which you're using to liberal arts college. LACs, being a private colleges, could scrutinize you as a guy or woman fairly than "oh, a 2400 on the SAT and four.0 pupil". So the SAT rankings are purely a factor of the utility, what they actual need to be certain is your guy or woman assertion inclusive of your extracurricular activities. That what makes you place different than for different scholars. So practice your pastime and inquisitive nature for LACs, using fact counts better than numbers.

gpa and rank really doesn't predict your score well. some people just don't do well on tests. you can be good at vocab and do well in math class, however, the format and tricky questions may get the best of you. so, take practice tests and see.

It could depend on your standardized testing history. Some of my gifted friends are failing math but their tests scores in standardized tests are excellent. They were born that way. However, with the information you provided I think you can pull it off. My GPA is between 3.6 and 3.7 but I also learn quickly in math. My socres are good but not as good as my gifted friends so just keep studying and do your best.

I got 2 perfect scores in math and reading, but my writing score was only 720, for a total of 2320. I only read this SAT guide, and that is how I got such high scores:

I recommend this guide to anyone seeking to get a higher score to get into a first choice college.
