The Liberty Bell was rung when the Declaration of Independence was read back in 1776 according to legend. The two have been forever linked in the collective mythology brought forth from the birth of our nation.

Stow was one of the two foundrymen who worked on the bell after it had cracked (along with Pass, hence the words Pass & Stow on the frame of the Liberty Bell).
