As a woman, I would hope it would be a compatible personality. But I guess this question is aimed more at the men.

What I was looking for was someone with whom I could sit and have an intelligent conversation. Someone who had some similar tastes as mine. Someone who felt silimlar to me in child care/ raising. Non smoker was a must. Good sense of humor was also important.

I think what either gender looks for in his/her "dream" partner is the person that adores you and in a way reflects who you are.
Its like an," I'm OK, You're OK", and I really want to be naked with you, and then I don't want to stop being with you, even when you piss me off.

Depends,
if you're a woman then it is a good sense of humor and strong family values.
if you're a guy then just between us it's the hooters and how quiet she can get a beer out of the fridge without interrupting the game on tv.

well the younger ones look for that thing between your legs,but when they get older,they look at other stuff first,like personality,your face,how you present yourself and stuff like that.

First it's looks, then some compatabilitty, then sex, then more compatability. I won't even mention good sex, because almost no one knows what good sex is.
