For water stains on stained and varnished furniture rub some mayonaise on the spot and leave overnight in the morning wipe clean with a soft cloth. You can try it with heat stains too it may not work.

Not enough info. is the finish water damaged? Is the heat marks cigarette burns or is the finish burned. Is the wood stained and varnished or painted solid color?
