I can't give you actual number measurements, because there really aren't any ...

First of all, there are different types of modeling ... runway, fashion, commercial, child, petite, plus size and parts.

Runway modeling is the type of modeling most people think about when you say "model" ... Cindy Crawford, Kate Moss, Tyra Banks, et al.

Fashion modeling is modeling clothes and accessories in catalogs and circulars.

Commercial modeling is kind of like fashion modeling, except it's not necessarily clothing or accessories, it can be cereal ads and cigarette ads, and the like.

The other categories are all modeling for specific categories - child modeling is for children, obviously; petite modeling is for smaller women (usually 5'3" and under); plus size modeling is for larger women, size 8 or 10 and up; and parts modeling is for people who have specific parts of them that are exemplary ... for example, a woman with incredible hands and nails could be a parts model for nail polish or hand lotion ads, for magazines, catalogs and commercials.

The only real requirements for models is that they are "fit" (this includes plus sized and child and parts models), and photograph well.

I will assume that you are asking about runway modeling ... the "norm" for runway modeling is that females are AT LEAST 5'9" (males 6'0"), and that they wear clothes well ... the idea of runway modeling is that the model is the "hanger" for the clothes, which is why models are usually emaciated.

However, with recent deaths of runway models from complications of anorexia and bulimia, Europe (Spain in particular) has spearheaded a controversial effort to make sure that only healthy models get the lucrative jobs. For Madrid's Fashion Week, they only hired models with a Body Mass Index (BMI) - which is a calculation of height to weight ratio - of 18 or higher, the theory being that the anorexic and bulimic models will not be able to achieve this ratio. This has done a lot to bring attention to the prevalence of eating disorders in the business, but not enough, because a lot of sick models can still get a BMI of 18. More needs to be done.

In general, though, to be a model, you have to be fit, usually slender, tall, and either very pretty or have a look that stands out. Honestly, you could be the prettiest woman in the room, but if you're really pretty and don't stand out, then you won't get jobs all that often. You have to carve out a niche and a style for yourself that makes you stand out.

you ought to be 50, 10 and 50. nah, Im optimistic you're good, only must be soft in front of a digital camera nad bear in concepts that modeling is in the whole physique, no longer purely face so get some good pictures taken, be optimistic to make even your hands seem good then deliver them right into a catalog employer. in case you're wanting to do runway you ought to be a minimum of 5'7.

well i'm not very sure about the rest, but i guess you know a model has to be skinny and tall, about 5foot 7" i think, unless you want to be a plus size model, then maybe you need to be at least size 12 haha well, it does depend on the model and the modelling agency. if you have talent it doesn';t really if you're an inch off or something. good luck!

It depends, because there are "plus size" models too, and the average for them will be different than the average of the ones you mean.
