I just got a good deal on a WRX that has the armrest extension which unfortunately gets in the way of shifting.

So my first question is, how do I remove this extension? And will I need another armrest cover? The cover on the extension has the slot in the middle, whereas in the car itself, the slot is on the left (drivers) side. Does someone know the part number of the lid if I need one?

My other question is on the Sirius radio. I noticed that when I got the car, I can only access certain channels only. So, does that mean that you have access to certain stations only for free? I can't find anything on the car papers saying if I am subscribed to Sirius or not.

And also my signal keeps going off and on intermittently, while the head unit reads 'acquiring signal', even on a clear blue sky without being in a tunnel. I heard that Sirius has never had clear reception like XM. Anyone else experiencing this? Let me know. And thanks again!

I'M NOT SURE ABOUT THE ARM REST EXTENSION, BUT I BELIEVE IF YOU REMOVE IT YOU WILL HAVE TO ORDER A REGULAR LID FOR THE CONSOLE, I WOULD RECCOMEND SENDING AN E-MAIL TO THIS GUY, HE IS THE PARTS MANAGER A A SUBARU DEALER, VERY EASY TO DEAL WITH VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE JDOUGLAS@MIKESCARFFSUBARU.COM, OR 1866-528-5282 AS FOR SIRUS RADIO SOUNDS LIKE U DON'T HAVE A SUBSCRIPTION,, AS FOR THE SIGNAL LOSS THE ANTENNA MAY HAVE A SHORT OR NOT CONNECTED TO THE RADIO WELL , BUT SIRIUS AND XM HAVE MERGED. AND WILL BECOME ONE LATER THIS YEAR

not sure about your armrest but about your sirius First sirius and xm use the same sattelites so thats a bad rumor had mine for 5 years and never had a prob. with reception but i can tell you from experience your antenna may be bad or the wire connecting to your antenna that will cause that message have that checked and you might not be tunning the sirius to get all the channels or its a trail membership try calling 1-888-539-7474 to set up your account and enjoy your radio
