If you want to gain weight, you need to take in more calories than you use.

Three full glasses of milk is part of a healthy diet for a teenage male. If you are female, you should be drinking four glasses of milk, or the equivalent.

There are a lot of other good substitutes out there -- calcium veggies like broccoli and spinach help. Fish with bones in (like canned salmon) have lots and lots of calcium. And certain seaweeds also have a lot of calcium without all the calories of milk (you can reconstitute them in water and eat them on salad or in soup).

You need a lot more specific information before someone tells you how fast you can gain weight. A meal can be anywhere from 300 to several thousand calories, for example. If you eat like it's Thanksgiving everyday, you are going to gain weight.

Try this USDA (government) site -- it's got on-line tools that can help you understand what you need to eat for good health and proper weight controls.

to gain weight youve gotta eat protein, a lot of protein. eat your steak and bugers and what not, milk will also help, but make sure to drink milk with fat in it in order to digest the protein. weight gaining and streangthening is 85-90% nutrition. The 10-15% is your lifting consistency and natural body type.

You put weight on in the off-season. So you lift heavy, keep a food dairy and cut down on your aerobic work (no running, just plenty of shooting) But make sure you get professional advice when training for weight gain.

I'm overweight and I started drinking more milk and eating more dairy, and I lost 4 pounds and now my weight is stable. So... I doubt you'll gain.
