Meditation has been medially proven to help people relax, destress and lower blood pressure. There are many methods of mediation. Do a little research to find which method you would be most comfortable with practicing.
Yoga is another way to releive tension. The poses have been proven to increase blood flow and stretch your muscles in such a way to relax your body physically. Also, as with any type of exercise, your body will release more endorphins and seretonin causing you to feel better mentally.
Finally camomile tea is good for releiving stress. Don't ask me why, because i don't know the specifics, but it works for me.
