I'm sure some one will know how to answer this one. I would like some ideas on different guns. They need to be small, easy to work, and that they work well (no junk) there should also be a decent amount of ammo that it can hold, in the book the gun is not hunting, the gun is for protection. The gun is for a women, so please keep this in mind. All this info is for a book I am writing and is due to my publisher in one month, so info from any one who knows about this, please. I'm doing my own searches but some ideas from the people that know would be great. Also anything else you want to through in there about guns would be great to hear. Thanks again.

Check out the Glock 27 or Glock 26. They're both subcompact pistols, lightweight, easy to use and fire.

Glock 27, .40 caliber, 9+1 rounds of ammo

Glock 26, 9mm, 10+1 rounds of ammo

Glock 26 is easier to fire, as it has less kick than the 27. The 27 has a bigger bullet, with better stopping power.

From a guy who spent many a year wearing a badge and a gun - the last thing you need for protection is a gun! You will do much, much better avoiding situations that are potentially that threatening. You're an adult and you're bright enough to think and plan ahead and avoid trouble. Besides, if any of my former colleagues has to come a'running because you got squirrelly with a gun, they are NOT going to look more kindly on you because you're female!
