I really enjoyed the Uglies trilogy by Scott Westerfeld. It made me think - imagine a futuristic world where everyone is made beautiful and, pretty much, empty-headed.

My Sister's Keeper was a good one at least 9/10ths of the way, by Jodi Picoult.

Someone else that likes Alice Hoffman! Good. The first I read by her was The Green Angel - its' entirely too short (because I wanted more.) I have picked up others by her - read Aquamarine, Indigo, Fortune's Daughter and Second Nature. Have some others by here waiting to be read.

I've enjoyed Sherrilyn Kenyon's books, especially the Dark Hunter series. Loved Laurell Hamilton's first group in the Anita Blake series.

For true crime, I read one by Aphrodite Jones that I thought was good. I don't read a lot of mysteries, but did enjoy Don of the Dead, a Pepper Martin mystery.

I enjoy Lillian Jackson Braun, too, maybe because I love cats!

Fantasy is a favorite genre as well. Read a lot of Piers Anthony back in the day and Anne McCaffrey.

A favorite romance that is old and sometimes difficult to find is Tryst, by Elswyth Thane.

Alice Sebold's books The Lovely Bones and Memoir were good. Beverly Cleary is another favorite author.

They're here, there and everywhere!

You might want to try something different, such as:-

Pompeii, by Robert Harris - a historical fiction set in the time when Mt. Vesuvius erupted over Pompeii

Timeline, by Michael Crichton - about how a bunch of archaeology students had to travel back in time on a rescue mission. (yeah...a little wierd, I know)

Life Expectancy, by Dean Koontz - about how a child who was born with five prophesies; the incidents that are to happen to the child throughout his life at specific times

Temple, by Matthew Rilley - a modern-day treasure hunt thriller intertwined with flashbacks in history, the Incan Civilization of Peru.

True Colors, by Doris Mortman - about a girl's dreams and ambition to become a respected artist/painter coupled with the mystery behind her parents' death

The Prodigal Daughter, by Jeffery Archer - about a Polish immigrant's daughter and her dreams of becoming America's first woman President.

Well, that's all I can list out for you now. You might also like to visit my new blog. It's my very own review page of some of the books I've read. Just go to:-
