they're not snappers!

there was a bad guy turtle later that was a snapper, his name was Slash.

as far as what kind they were, i'm guessing they were actually tortoises of some type, because they didnt seem to need to stay in water, which most turtles need to do, but many tortoises dont.

also, turtles/tortoises dont always have green shells or skin... so, i dont know what kind they are, but that stuff, coupled with the fact that they were purchased at a regular old pet store by a kid (so they must not have been very expensive) could limit the option.

seriously though I would go with tortoise instead of turtledue to their size.

good question. umm maybe western pond turtles? although the TNMTs are human-sized, they just don't strike me as sea-turtles..i dunno...
