It's obviously not fair that the weaker conference in any given year only has to worry about the finals whereas the stronger conference has to win all four series. The best teams in the east recordwise wouldn't even have homecourt advantage in the first round out west. I just don't think any team in the east could stand a chance of making the finals if they had to face an elite team like the Spurs in the first round instead of playing cupcakes in every series before the finals.

I don't think they should have any divisions in the NBA. Obviously the West is the dominant conference and I think the best teams, regardless of what conference or division, should go to the playoffs.

Funny thing is, thats what they have been saying the past few years..the west is sooooo much better than the east...and yet the east has taken the nba championship two out of the last three years.Maybe, just maybe, the difference isnt really that big, and its the way the media portrays the situation that people are buying into, not what the facts are.The tide is shifting folks toward the east. Within the next three years, I am wagering that people will be wondering how the west can stand up to the powerhouses in the east.

The best in the East could handle their own in the West, even if they had to face the Spurs or Mavs in the first round. However, I don't think anyone past Detroit could make it to the Finals.
