how many points are you suppose to have to get a orange top contributor badge?i have seen some with -4 and still have one and some with 1,000.and not have one.so what is the deal.thanxs

Looking at the people with Top Contributor, their doesn't seem to be any set qualification for who gets them. It doesn't appear to be number of points and it also doesn't seem to be affected by the number or percentage of best answers that a person has. Everything I've seen written by Yahoo about the badge doesn't really clear up how they determine who gets one and who doesn't.

top contributer is for only one catgory..if you answer the most questions in one category..and not even the best answers....you get one. It should be based on best answers on that category since some top contributers are complete buffoons.

I think you must ask and answer a lot of questions in a particular category and if your questions get starred a lot (:
