This would depend upon the exact system you have and the anti-scaling agent used. Most systems add the anti-scaling agent as part of the pretreatment.

You would be wise to contact the manufacturer of your specific unit to find out what and how much to use.

The choice of Anti scaling agent and its dose will depend upon the ultimate use of water, in case it is to be used for drinking purpose then chemical anti scaling agent can not be used then removal of optimum amount of calcium from the water using EDTA or NTA or ion exchanger will be helpful, However, in case the water is to be used for industrial purpose anti scaling agents such as phosphonates or its salts can be used and their doses can be optimized by adding different doses and monitoring the change in hard etc. usual dose by vary from 20 ppm to 100 ppm.
