I LOVE smoothies, they're really good for you and great when breastfeeding, they give you that extra boost! Here's a recipe that I love, and you can change it up in so many ways!

2 c soy milk
1 1/2 c frozen berries
1 frozen banana
1 tbsp spirulina

Blend together.

The best combination I had was this:
1 c almond milk
1 c orange juice
1 1/2 c frozen blueberries
1 frozen banana

And I blended it. (I have never added spirulina.) It was SOOOOO yummy! I definitely recommend it to those of you trying to get more fruit in your diet.

You can play around with the liquids, use different types of milk and juice, use different types of frozen fruit (but you should always use the frozen banana, it's better than using ice cubes because then your smoothie won't get watery!)

Anything you make yourself go nuts!

Also anything that contains mainly real ingredients like real pureed fruit and yogurt or whatever is fine too.

If you are using protein powder and it is ONLY the protein such as whey then it should be fine, though some babies will react to too much milk protein.

it think it,s not good when breastfeeding because i look at the ingredients there is little or no defence between energy drinks and pop. i know it,s not good for the baby, they need protein and vitamins.so malk or real juice.

anytime u eat a good meal, or drink in your case, packed with vitamins and nutrients instead of grease then u will feel energized.

I would talk to your doc, and if you want a drink from the store, call the number on the back, but usually they say no.
