I'm 38 weeks pregnant and during my pregnancy the area around my nipples has gotten really big! This is very unattractive! Will they stay this way after i have my baby?

Completely normal. They (your nipples) will however, return to normal once your milk has dried up after you have your baby.

You may be able to see veins under the skin of your breasts, and you may find that your nipples are getting bigger and darker. After the first few months, your areolas — the pigmented circles around your nipples — will also be bigger and darker.
You may not have noticed the little bumps on your areolas before. But now these bumps, which are a type of oil-producing gland called Montgomery's tubercles, may become much more pronounced. Your breasts go through these changes in preparation for nursing your baby.

I did some research and I can only find information on why it happens, but nothing that says it will go back. As a mother, that also nursed, I can't say that they go back to the way that they were prior to pregnancy since that is my experience. However it's probably one of those things that we unknowingly exchange with the gift of being able to create children. Welcome to motherhood and wish you the best!

I think they will stay that way because even when they go from pink to brown they stay brown. But just think... you will have a wonderful baby to show for it. And different guys like different things so you don't have to worry about that, and if your married, he'll think your sexy as ever anyways.

They will go back to just about normal. Besides, the only one who will see them will be hopefully be your husband. Trust me, he's not going to care. He'll just be waiting for the $ex to resume after the baby. Congrats and good luck!

They probably will go down a little bit, but not much. Get used to the fact now that your body will never look the same again. Even when u get back to pre-preg. weight. Sorry.

Wait till the baby is born and your milk comes in. With my second child they blew up like huge balloons. I barely could fit in my bras. Only lasted a few days(I didn't breast feed), but boy did they hurt and they were huge.

Those are your areolas they are preparing to feed your baby. Please read up on breastfeeding your nipples will never be the same, even if you artificial feed. May as well use them for what they are for.

I am sure because you are so close to the child actually being born, your breasts are filling up with "milk". If you chose not to breast feed after the child is born - the doctor will most likely give you pills to prevent breast engorgement. Good luck!
