other symptoms , she has steadily put on weight over the past year and a half, she weighs 192 lbs. so anorexia and bulimia are not to blame. she also suffers from (jra) juvenile rhematoid arthritis, has had (in the past) granduloma annulare, and was born with muscular ventricular septal defect.

I would suggest that you get her to some type of doctor that could rule out more diseases than that. There are many conditions that can cause someone to lose their hair. I hope this helps!

Are there any other symptoms, weight loss within the last year? Some girls get caught up in the bulima or anorexia game and hair loss is a sign that their body is not getting the proper nutrients, I hope this is not the case. Other causes, stress, has she undergone alot of changes in the last year? Watch her eating and coping habits, and I bet you will find a soulution. Good luck.

Well, this isn't a very general case, but my sister loses hair when she's under stress. It's caused by her eczema, so, yes, a dermatologist might help. Try the above suggestion first though--it might be your daughter's shampoo, or some sort of hair product.
