we have a roper washer and dryer and have found them both to be very good they are not junk they are made by whirlpool , and lowes does care , any way brian was right however about checking the level of the appliance and your floor does make a difference if there has been any water damage that can make the floor weak and with any vibration will cause a shakeing or louder than normal use however i will say that in general they are louder than for instance a higher end machine ,cost was a major factor for us that is why we chose roper i am very happy with them and they get done what needs to be done will i buy one agian hopefully ill win the lottery and pay someone to do the laundry

This is the signs of a cheaply made product thats normal for such a product as this, Roper is junk. I would suggest you buy Whirlpool brand next time, they are very reliable and quiet, Whirlpool is known to be most reliable of any manufacture today, I own many of whirlpools appliance and very happy with all of them, my next purchase is a Whirlpool washer and dryer, I now own a Maytag bad mistake it's noisy and continually goes off balance while washing; it's suppose to adjust to unbalanced loads but does not, maytag is junk too. Good Luck !

I just got a brand new Roper washing machine today. It sounds like an elderly duck quacking away at the top of his lungs. I guess I will have to use ear plugs on laundry day.

Hi. It should still be on warranty. I hope you kept your receipt. Call the service repair number and make it their problem. You paid good money for this. Most washing machines these days are rather quiet. It probably needs leveling. That's their problem not yours. I can tell you as a single home owner, I'm not getting to the bottom to adjust the feet. I'm not a gorilla. Have a great week.

It may be out of balance or not level. Get a carpenter level and check it front and back, the legs unscrew to set the level.
