This girl was saying that her mom used to put "a little bit" of whiskey in a cp and rub it on her son's gums when he was teething, and that one day her dad "accidentally" gave him the whole capful of whiskey! "And the baby slept ALL night" (No s**t!) ¬.¬ And the people listening must've thought it was hilarious cause they started to laugh! I'm sorry, I don't think it's funny at all...

I know people used to put alcohol on their kid's gums while teething. And not too long ago My preacher's wife's Dr. told her to get whiskey for her son ( I think he was like 6) b/c he was sick but had really bad allergies so he couldn't prescribe anything. She was embarrassed to go into the liquor store, but she gave it to him and he was well with in a week, and he is fine now. I'm not saying anyone should give their kids alcohol and giving a baby enough whiskey that they sleep through the night is not funny.

Well, do have to think back in the the days they didn't have any kinds of medicine for baby's teething or colic baby's that's what they used. My Grandmother even told me this because the whiskey is not only sweet but also helps take the pain off the baby that's teething. And she even told me that my cousin was a colic baby and they couldn't get her to sleep and so my Grandmother put a little drop of whiskey in her bottle and it helped relax her.

Don't get me wrong I know in today's world it's not something you should do but over 30 years ago they didn't have that kind of stuff then or it was just coming out.

I mean putting it in a sippy cup is over the top but back in the day i do know of it being an old wive's tale to put whiskey on a teething babies gums. I wouldn't let my 18 month old chug jack daniels though. What's even more disgusting is that a bunch of teenagers taught a 2 and 5 year old to smoke pot and then video taped it.

That was an old time remedy for young babies to give them some relief from the pain of teething, & you are correct it is not funny.

I was treated the same with whiskey as a baby,
but never lost the taste for it & was an alcoholic by 14 years old, now at 47 I am having serious liver problems, thank god for modern medicine.

well i've heard about the whiskey and the whole teething process... but the father giving the baby a cupfull???! thats just plain wrong!!! so careless of him... may be his a bit tipsy himself! and i bet there's a lot more effective yet safe way to go for than using whiskey on a baby...

I don´t think it´s funny at all, the same as you think and as a matter of fact those parents should be in for a couple of decades, un saludo, dear. In significa presos desde ya. Quién se puede reír de eso, estamos cada vez más locos. El ser humano es un caso serio ya no hay siquiatra que valga.

People laugh because they are immature, and the mention of beer in ANY environment makes them giggle like preteens. Ignore them. You're right.

It isn't funny. It can be very scary what some people feel is humorous.
