I was wondering if anyone has a car with a 3.1L V6 who is running glasspacks. If so, can anyone tell me how it sounds? Is it recommended?

It will probably be neat so I'd go ahead and get it more power better and more aggresive sound doesnt cost much. GO FOR IT

My uncle used to have a Ford Ranger with a 2.8L V6 with duals and glasspacks. It was loud when you got on it, but sounded mellow and deep when it was just idling. I have glasspacks on almost every car & truck I own.

Oh, I am assuming you mean glasspack mufflers (like cherry bombs or similar), and not glasspacked exhaust tips.

I used to have a cavalier Z24 with the 3.1 and I reccomend going to a catback exhaust rather than glass packs... Glasspack give a more resonating sound and they allow the exhaust to escape much faster resulting in lower back pressure which throws codes up like mad.

I ran glass packs on a Straight six in both of my ford falcons from the sixties, they sounded ok, but they were only single exhaust systems. Anything is better than factory. after a few years it sounds like you just have straight pipes, because all the material in the tube burns away and falls out the tailpipe.

Glass packs usually always have a way of making a vehicle sound more powerful than it really is, compared to stock mufflers.Glass packs also allow the engine to 'breathe' better because of less restriction.Go ahead and sound off.You may also want to know that they will not pass inspection."Thrush" makes a glass pack called the 'Hush Thrush" They are a little quieter and usually pass inspection.
