"don't stand." it's by far better lyrically. have you ever heard the remix? it's slower and much more dramatic.
the police, as much as i love their music, have, imho, one serious flaw: the prolonged repetitions at the end of some of their songs. it makes some great songs tough to 'sell' to an audience when i'm DJing unless i fade the end myself.

I love the Police & though lyrically Don't Stand So Close To Me is more sound, I personally prefer Message in a Bottle. To me the music is much more interesting and complex.
