If you consider this program as helping the less fortunate in a foreign country then dont think so much on how it will benefit you, instead think of it as a mission without expecting anything in return. Remember what you do to these people who have the least in life, you do it to God. Its your chance to share the word of God not only in words but in action as well. Good Luck and May God Bless us all!
P.S. you are lucky to have a parents who are very supportive and generous as well. You are blessed...

The benefit is in the Hereafter meaning when the day of judgement comes and God has seen that you helped poor people, you will get rewarded for it then so thats a huge benefit!

Going there and doing that will be like wetting yourself in a dark suit. You'll get a nice, warm feeling but no one else will notice

why ? all their relatives that are here illegaly send their money back home so they shouldnt be so poor. WE should help those here and not else where. We are so busy helping everyone else, our country is crumbling around us

oh there is none, if we keep giving hand outs and helping they will NEVER help themselves
