They are kids. Just love them and that's all they need. They love their own mom too (in a different way). Enjoy the love they show you. It'll have it's ups and downs. Just don't bad mouth their mom and you shouldn't feel guilty.

don't flatter yourself.
don't ever forget that you are NOT the mom. you are the step mom.
when you start erasing the line you get into trouble!
you can be a friend and help them the best you can. be caring and loving as much as you can.
one more thing. if the mom ever hears you say what you just said here the war will be on!!! it is a war you will not win. it is a war your husband will not appreciate. it is a war that will hurt the children in many many ways!!!

Don't sacrifice their future to further your own. Help them as much as possible. My dad died & I can hardly wait to P on my stepmom's grave! She was & is a selfish B & a C to say the least. My dad died & I'm glad I don't have to look at her anymore. Have a nice week. Divorce ruins a family unit.
