If you like them both then you need to explore both of them and find out which one you like just a little bit more and go for that one but only you can decide after all this is a life long decision for you and you need to do what makes you the most happy.

Astronomy would be very interesting but A friend of mine
is an astronomer and most of his jobs are funded by grants
and he has to bounce around from job to job a lot when
bugets are cut or money runs out. He has to teach on the side to make ends meet.
A Veternarian would be a more secure stable job and has
it's own rewards

Astronomers have to take two years of advanced calculus, and only 1 percent of those who major in astronomy actually graduate.

I really love astronomy too, but I hate advanced calc. If you truly love calc and physics, then go for it!

However, being a vet, you would have the chance to save so many kitty and doggie lives. It would definitely be a rewarding career, and you could still erect a small domed telescope in your backyard to look at the awesome comets that fly by, or planets and distant stars.

I wish you the best in whichever you choose!

Can't see much job satisfaction in star gazing, unless nerdy stuff is your bag. IMHO, being a vet would have to be one of THE best jobs, satisfaction wise, and if I could have my time over, I would definitely follow this career path. Sure, it will have its sad times when an animal dies or you have to euthenase a sick animal, but overall the joy and inner happiness that comes from healing a sick animal, will more than make up for the low times. Irrespective of the money issue, you have to be HAPPY in the field you choose as you need to do it for the rest of your life. So, that is the question you need to ask yourself, will you be happy?

No matter which way you choose, I want to wish you the best of luck with your life.

Well, as far as I know, astronomy doesn't pay very much-- I guess it depends on the company you work for-- but veterinary is probably a more reliable paycheck. Maybe astronomy could be done in your spare time?.. find a new planet; discover a comet; maybe find out that Uranus really isn't what it sounds like it is... I dunno, my guess is as good as anyones, I suppose.

Go to vet school. Not sure you can really make a living at astronomy.

You can be a veterinarian for pay and astronomy for pleasure/hobby.
