That's it in a nutshell. No threats or physical contact, but is it any sort of harassment or stalking?

He's actually following my wife. I'm thinking about borrowing a buddy's car and following HIM following my wife. Or for more anonymity I could just have a couple friends do it for me. I know exactly who hired the PI... or considering how easily he was "found out" he may not even be a professional. Just someone they know and asked to follow us.

there is nothing you can do if he/she is not harrassing you. the only thing you can do is to prohibit them from trespassing but its their own right to do what they want.

Call the police or go to the station and report them for stalking and see if you can get a restraining order.
First get their name and tell them to leave you alone, so you can tell the judge you did ask them to stop.

restraining order...
it is stalking..this person is following you around snooping into your private life..
how is that not stalking?!

do PI's actually have a legal right? (ie..are they endorsed by the law)..

but yah..go for a restraining order, shoot for something like 1/2 mile or something..

well first march right up to them and poke them in the chest and go like "leave. me. a. lone. you. freak. y. stalk. ing. weird. o." and destroy their camera's film.

later you can go to a business site and report what a sucky PI he was! He let you see him! what a loser!
