First thing i sto turn off the water main so you don't get flooded, and then call a plumber so it can get repaired unless you want to repair it yourself.

If it is a plastic water line, copper or and old galvanized water line and you don't know how to repair it, call a plumber. You could create a "time released" hazard by doing a guess-work repair job. I also have found that a Home Depot do it yourself 1-2-3 type of book has helped some of my relatives, out of state, because I wasn't available in a pinch. I'm a plumber, so I hope this helps.

Turn off the water supply either to the whole house or just to the broken line. Then repair the line or call a plumber.

Well first check and see if there is a valve on that pipe that you can close to shut off the water, without having to go out to the street and look for the main shut off valve. However it will be quicker to do just that, go out to the front of your house, close to the road you should see a small metal casement, that might even say WATER. Open it and you will see a odd looking vale, that looks more like a knob. You'll need one of those U-shape wrenches with a long handle, or a small crescent wrench,Turn it, then fix the leak.

Shut off the main line coming in and then depending on your skill level go to Home Depot for parts or call a plumber.

First of all you have to go to where the water meter is and shut off the water to the house. Then determine where the leak is, and either call someone to fix it or fix it yourself. Good Luck.
