What state do you think the simpsons live in (explain your answer)
personaly i think illinois because they never talked about traveling to that state. also alot of signes point to them living in that state.

I think they live in the minds of Matt Groening...but I could be mistaken...
We like to think its Springfield, Ohio. There are bars everywhere, its pretty much a dump and its out in the middle of nowhere....scary place.

They have an ocean, a glacier. Springfield Gorge (like Grand Canyon). The whole point is that it is meant to be any state.. Plus they've been on the air for like18 years. They have to be all over the place to keep the story going. MY advice is just enjoy the ride. I don't think they'll be on much longer Hence the movie and such. There is a Springfield almost in every state. I guess that's why they used it.

Herb: I want a ticket to Springfield...
Ticket lady:Springfield Illionios...
herb:No
Ticket lady:Springfield massachusetts
herb:NO!......Springfield
So im kinda guessing there and if not Just The state of Springfield and cty Homersville ok maybe not anyway check out my new question its very important and i need help so yea ok thx!!!!!!!!!I hope i helped!Oh and in this other episode where bart gives Mr. Burns the blood, on the letter it says Springfield,IL so maybe that is a clue.

My guess is Illinois as well. I remember an episode where Lisa (or was it Bart?) was pointing on a map where their city is located. Of course, they didn't show which state she pointed at, but it looked like it was the state of Illinois.
I might be wrong.

Illinois, or Michigan. I remember seeing in one of the most recent Couch Gags that the entire universe was concealed inside Homer's head, and when they zoomed out of Springfield into the U.S., it looked to be in that region of the U.S.

Thats what I thought until there was an episode where Homer drove in the ocean... Then I found out there is a Springfeild in every state. I don't know it kind of frustrates me... I am such a dork...

i agree with you, but that's just because i live in that state also, and it just so happens it's in a town mentioned on the show (not springfield)
