Are the Iraqi 'insurgents' really the bad guys?

What would you do if another country ... one powerful enough, like China ... decided that it needed to liberate America from a government that it disagreed with? Imagine everything that would go along with being conquered and subordinated by another nation. All the Americans dead in the streets ... losing family members ... cities and infrastructure shattered ... Chinese troops implementing their puppet government. What would you do?

I can't speak for everyone here, but I'd be an AMERICAN INSURGENT. An AMERICAN PATRIOT fighting for the liberation of my country.

After coming home one day and finding your house blown apart with your spouse's blood and intestines scattered around the living room and your child's body charred to a cinder, what would you do if you got your hands on a Chinese soldier?

Would you go along with the puppet government forcibly installed by the conquering army? I wouldn't.

BTW, there are no provable ties between Iraq and Al-Queda (which is primarily Saudi Arabian - our 'friends'), and no WMDs.

"Insurgents" is just another ORWELLIAN term this administration and the U.S. media is using to manipulate understanding of what is actually transpiring.

THE INSURGENTS are patriots *there* just as they would be *here* if WE HAD BEEN INVADED illegally by imperalist profiteers.

Shame on the Americans who don't understand what we have done to Iraq: WE LAUNCHED THEIR CIVIL WAR , part of the plan to destabilize the Middle East, and THAT is why they are killing each other now. WE REMOVED THE STOP GAP, i.e., Saddam who kept control of the Sunnis and Shiites and now all helll has broken loose.

Americans should be demanding the resignation, impeachment and IMPRISONMENT of the entire Bush cabal, but they apparently too ignorant or too lazy to realize just WHAT kind of crimes this administration has committed, BEGINNING with attacking it's own land on 9/11. Come on people!! Put down your electronic TOYS and do your homework!

The insurgents are foreigners, not Iraqis.
So pretty much what your saying is that you would support it if the canadians and mexicans gave the democrats supplies to kill the republicans, in some messed up way to get control of the new Chinese supported government.
The insurgents dont attack the US troops, they kill innocents of the opposite side.
The majority of american deaths are from forces from other countries who send people there specifically to kill soldiers.
If the iraqis wanted us out, they have more than enough firepower to kill hundreds of our troops every day.

There is a saying that "One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter." If England had defeated us in the Revolutionary War (something they were close to several times), our history books would talk about how George Washington, John Hancock, and all the others were "insurgents". Benedict Arnold would be seen in a similar light as Lee, a valiant enemy who knew when to quit (and he really was one of our best, something that went mostly unnoticed in the war.)

However, there are moral implications to consider. George Washington wasn't known to torture/kill civilians (although there were Americans who did, "tarring and feathering" those who supported the British).

i fought in the first gulf war, including shooting men, being shot at by those men, and actually being shot. the men that are there right now are doing the same thing our boys are, fighting for a cause they believe in. if the chinese occupied the USA, a lot of us would end up as "terrorists", but we'd consider ourselves "the resistance" or "freedom fighters". its sad when people feel they have no options other than killing other people. i hope someday we can all evolve past that.

the whole region needs to accept that most of the problems they have will never be resolved unless all sides can say "ok, time to start fresh, and we'll all make compromises". until then, who knows... but if that was all happening here, a lot of people would consider me "the bad guy", i'd fight and die for my way of life.

Well, if our government, a bad America, wasn't allowing my little sister go to school or educate herself because she is female, wasn't allowing my family to practice whichever religion we chose to (or no religion at all), and if my fellow american citizens were constantly blowing up the local supermarkets and endangering the lives of my family in the name of religion and politics on a weekly basis, and my fellow americans were terrorizing neighboring countries' civilians without provocation over thousand year old religious disputes, and if I wasn't allowed to speak out against and freely vote against something I didn't feel was right, and was continually threatenting the very existence of other nations due to them being rich, proud, educated, powerful and free and them basically living however they choose and I was a poor, envious, brainwashed, scared uneducated man, who didn't know how to see myself in any better position, then yea, obviously, i'd follow the crowd and fight against the free nation that we were threatening too. But if I were living in this bad america, yet happened to not be fully brainwashed and could in fact see myself and my family in a much better situation given the right opportunities and freedoms, then you bet i'd join the other side...duh....

But, since i'm living in the real world America in which my fellow citizens and I are the rich, free, educated people who and can picture a better future for ourselves as long as we work hard and keep learning, then you better believe i'll fight to the very end for our freedom if some other nation were on MY American soil butchering MY family, trying to take MY American freedom away from me. But that scenario is unlikely right now and I am safe for the most part because OUR American troops are doing the fighting right now. As YOU freely trash the very Americans who are currently dieing so that your grandchildren's children can continue to freely bash and trash OUR country and our troops grandchildren's children. You'll fully understand what i'm saying unless you get all your information from cable news. You probably wouldn't have the balls to join the military and help out your american brothers if it were the last job on earth...yea, ur a patriot alright....

It depends on what your fighting for. The insurgents in Iraq are bad because they help a wrong government that killed its own people and threaten others. That's not the reason i think Pres. bush wanted to go to war with them i think its just a personal hatred between Bush and Saddam.

What's missing from your agrument compared to what's really happening over there, is that, the insurgients aren't fighting our soldier's to proctect to government that's been replaced, they're fighting for their own interests and going after innocent Iraqi's just trying to go about their daily lives and who actually want what we're trying to bring them. Most Iraqi's really want to just be able to carry out their day at their shops and schools without the threat of someone from another sect blowing them up.

They really don't care about why American's are there, they just use it as an excuse to carry out their bombings and other violence against those whose befiefs differ from there's. In America those would be considered hate crimes.

If what you present actually happened, there wouldn't be different fractions of Americans bombing eachother, seeing the occupation as their chance to take power over the country.

The Iraqis insurgents are fighting for their freedom. Thus, they are not the bad guys. They can be compared to the Americans who fought against the British soldiers to gain independence.
