When hell freezes over, when was the last time you got something free. If they ever can figure out a way to charge us for the air we breathe they will. The only two things that are a fact is this country is that you pay taxes and will die. Free is the most abused word in our society. Freedom carries a heavy price, if you ever doubt that go to Arlington Cemetery outside of Washington DC and look at the graves for as far as the eye can see that have paid the so called price of freedom.

Well, you are asking for a prediction, and my crystal ball has been on the blink lately. My best guess, however, is that it isnt likely real soon. The reason is, frankly it would cost a tremendous amount and investors would be unlikely to invest that kind of money without a very good chance of seeing a return on their investment. Since free dialup really kind of fizzled out, I kind of doubt that a nationwide wireless would work on a free basis either.

San Francisco has free wireless in many neighborhoods and eventually will have for the whole city. But I doubt it is really free. The phone companies and cable companies are being paid by SF City.

NOTHING IS FREE!!!!!!!
All these things are paid for with taxpayer dollars. Every time you buy something, assuming you haven't tried to get it for free, you pay a tax. Whenever your parents get a paycheck they are paying taxes. Your parents house value is taxed every year. Etc.
Every new thing that is offered by a government agency WITHOUT CHARGE just increases the taxes that the people that actually pay taxes get to pay.
That's why your parents get to pay almost half their income in taxes of one form or another. Yeah, we need another government program.
