Actually NO! Way back in the day, when someone decided to give it a name they had a tendency to use names that the bug or plant look similar to. If you look close at the wings, you'll see that they resemble ears.

yes, and the eastern 1/2 of the US expects a major infestation of them due to the mild winter.
since they're able to enter the house through the tiniest of crevices, i'll be sleeping with ear muffs on.

they are not coming from outdoors...oftentimes they arrive in by ability of the sewer equipment, by your sinks and loos. Spray round there and save it clean, run some water by once an afternoon to flush any that are making their journey, and also you should work out them disappearing quickly!
