ok i was driving my car in full control going the speed limit staying in my lane ect but i was driving the correct way but in reverse so i was driving backwards but my movement was correct and i got a ticket for $1000

and this will raise my insurence

would this have a chance to get over turned in court

You are not allowed to drive your car backward. I bet your ticket was for reckless driving, huh? No chance of getting it chucked, sorry.

But as to the rationale -- you have much less control when driving backwards; can't see where you're going as well; and it could distract other drivers, who might crash.

I mean, it isn't completely insane that driving the speed limit in reverse is frowned upon.

Never learned to drive, but these seem to me to be the likely reasons.

It depends on how the traffic laws of your state are written.

If the laws state that you must be facing forward, or create the presumption that facing backward is reckless, then you are likely out of luck.

Otherwise, if they don't actually require your car to be facing forward, you have a shot. The judge may just be amused enough with your argument to dismiss the case. But you'd need to check all the local laws, both statutory and case law on the subject and present your argument within the framework of those laws.
