Ok, here is your chance to be creative - but not sarcastic. And PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE - No "Christian Attacks". I don't want 20 answers that are quotes from the bible or any other heavy duty "Christian" responses. (No Offense - I used to be a born-again Christian I KNOW what the bible says I don't need a refresher course - save those answers for another question please. Thank you.)

Where do you think, everyone who is alive now - where were we before we were concieved? Did we simply "not exisit"? We were living as "other people", die and get recycled into the body we are currently living in? Were we maybe even cats or dogs working up enough "credits" to become "human" - like we have to earn points here on Yahoo to get to the next level? We all have theories about where we go when we die - but what about where we "were" before we were even a seed in our mother's womb? Where do you think we were?

I don't have any rational answer for this question; but I tend to feel that we were somewhere before and that we will exist somewhere after we are gone.

The heaven concept is quite irrational (and also quite boring) and reincarnation, although seeming a bit more plausible, fails to answer the question of where we all were 5 billion years ago. For that matter, where was the universe 16 billion years ago. Where did it come from? What caused the Big Bang and what was here before?

I suspect that our limitations as humans will prevent us from ever being in a position to answer these questions definitively; but how extraordinary it is that we live during an epoch where so much of the universe has been revealed to us.

I believe all of our souls were created at the same time (the big bang) and have been here on earth in human form many times. I don't believe humans have ever been animals, but I do believe we began as cavemen and worked our way up from there. We have all probably been male and female, healthy and ill, wealthy and poor etc. And I believe that when we die, we ALL go to heaven, because there is no place else to go. After we spend some time there, we will come back to experience a new life. I don't believe God punishes us with everlasting torment for coming here and doing what He intended for us to do- learn and grow. I have come to these beliefs after many years of searching diligently for answers. Most of what organized religions teach just does not make any sense; my current beliefs do. Peace to you.

I don't know what I believe. Maybe we existed before being born. Maybe not. I don't know.

I do know that the mormons believe that we were in heaven with heavenly father before he gave us a body. Coming to earth was just a step on the road to being with him in heaven. there are more details than that, but I think you would get a more accurate picture from someone who actually believes. It's a nice story. There are parts I want to believe are true. They might be.

Does it sound like I don't want to commit to anything that can't be proven?

What I think?
I think we were just little souls(ghosts unseen) wandering the Earth, and before the Earth the universe until we get the chance to actually choose which and where we will live for the rest of our lives. When you die, its basically like expiring, and most people go bad and want more, so they enter a second body after death, and this usually spawns evil people.

But after our first death we can go look around and spend the rest of eternity just trying to figure out "Oh, what did she think of me in 6th grade" or random crap like that, trying to learn anything you didnt in your life

i think the flexibility that sustains my existence existed long before i grew to become into born; I even have faith that understanding existed long before i grew to become into born. neither is unique to me. regardless of the undeniable fact that, i think the existence and understanding unique to me has in straight forward terms existed as long as I somewhat have existed bodily and could give up to exist as quickly as I give up to exist bodily.

All I believe is that we weren't anywhere before life, just a black nothing from which there is no memory, feel, taste, hearing, a waiting room of souless purgatory if you will that is before and after death.
