no...i don't think there is..not for those who want to know, to keep finding, keep exploring their own depths....there is always more, everyday reveals something new, everyday changes our perceptions of who we think we are and the world around us....every new fact, every new meeting, every new idea adds a little more to our 'self'....to our knowledge of self and the world...

As long as we continue to seek, as long as we don't become too self-satisfied with what we know, or think we know...there never will be an end....

In theory, No, because your subconscious is always at work creating new responses to inputs, trying to keep your brain on autopilot. Practically, Yes and in a relative New York Minute . . . if you read and study the work of Dr. Holly Latty-Mann. In as little as 28 hours, she can explain your brain and that you are not your brain, your true self is the spirit you were born with. That Ego happens when you think brain awareness is your self awareness, blocking your true spirit.

There is more but not much to the concept. Try to get a copy of her introductory CD and listen to it as you would study the manual for a spaceship that could deliver you to a greater life than you can imagine. Otherwise you will leave 80% of your life unlived only to realize the answer on your death bed if you are even that lucky. I am 63 and a changed person who know what gaming is and how it controls your relationships and ultimately your life. Your goal is to return to spirit control which is more simple than you would think. Good Luck but it cannot happen unless you seek the understanding with purpose and energy.

A brief sample of her program has changed my whole perspective on life and how to manage it to reach goals you would have previously considered impossible or not even considered at all. Happy seeking.

No there is no end to self-discovery..the more you find out, the more you realize how little you actually know.. We all keep acquiring some new knowledge everyday and that's part of evolving, everything changes and will never be as it once was. Therefore threes always something new to discover..especially about "beingness"(oneself) as you mentioned. =)

I sure hope not. Being alive is a journey, not a destination. And the important journey for me has always been one of discovering who I am, and how I can better relate to the world and the people in it. Every time I learn something about myself, I am thrilled, because it allows me to re-evaluate my actions and inter-actions, both present and past. But learning something new often means I try to change the way I do things for the better. This leads me to more self-discovery. As someone once said, "the greater the area of light, the greater the perimeter of darkness", and that is swell. It makes for a wonderful and ever-changing journey.

No I my opinon there is not, because person changes constantly and the situation changes around them, so there will always be room to meditate deeper. Unless you are like a buddist monk who lives in a secluded temple in tibet at least.
Personally this question reminds me of something from the Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy, "It is a theory that once either the Ultimate question or the Answer is found the two will change completly. It is a another, less popular theory that this has already happened."

There is never an end to self-discovery, if you choose to allow it. People are exposed to new ideas all the time, and they learn things about themselves. Every year people resolve to do new things, which results in discovery. Only people, who are narrow-minded and live on the island of Self, do not discover things. They claim to be perfect, and do not allow new ideas to come in – whether or not those ideas can make them become a better person.

sure. Self-discovery ends with self-interest. in all probability in basic terms 2 religions, Hinduism and Buddhism talk approximately self-interest that's the perception of self and subsequently the perception of the divinity inherent in this creation. maximum individuals war to realize there; in basic terms some have been able to realize this. that's a place the place there is not any longer something greater left to be properly-known, the place all questions have been responded and the soul is in appropriate cohesion with the divine rigidity: Buddhists call it a state of Nirvana, Hindus call it a state of Moksha.

Speaking with what probably amounts to many decades seniority, I can honestly answer NO. About the time you think you have it figured out, another fact enters the equation. If this doesn't happen, shame on you. The truth is we change as time passes. Sometimes the changes are good, and sometimes they are not. If you are truly growing spiritually, you are headed the right way and will constantly re-evaluate yourself. Go for it!

There are at least a million whys that can be voiced for each new discovery. it's just amazing to think that this can happen like little spurts and sometimes, really momentous things. like change, it is safe to say that self-discovery is an endless process, a divine gift--a privilege to those open enough to explore what it all means.

No The only thing certain in life is change & so people wind up changing with circumstances situations & decision making so for each episode or chapter in life there will always be self discovery & shocking revelations on what we will do and how far we will go to get to our desired result!!!

i definitely say none..it is believed philosophically that man is a rational being that continuously interacts with his environment every day of his life in order to live. maslow's heirarchy of need includes the 5 factors a man needs in order to survive- physiological need, safety and security need, love and belongingness need, self-actualization and lastly, self-actualization..as long as man lives, he continuosly interact with factors which may or may not trigger his real personality.and each day of a man's life, he deals with these factors , uncovering his inner self. these may show his limitations, and then he will realize his capabilities and boundaries.. a man which do not interact with these factors is considered to be dead and is part of the earth's ashes.. a living man may or may not reach the top need, and so he dies without fully discovering himself, but he had lived discovering. and if ever a man has reaches the top need, which is self-visualization, it doesn't mean he will stop self-discovery, because certain circumstances may still reveal the smallest hidden part of him, which he thought was nothing in the first place
