Whenever I feel "fluish" I get zinc, place it between some aluminum foil ( I fold it over ) crush it into a fine powder. Then right before I go to bed, I put it under my tongue and let it dissolve completely, it can take 30-60 minutes. Then to kill the taste, I eat a cracker. Don't drink anything, else it won't work. I am always better by the next morning. I read that in Prevention magazine back in the 1980's. It taste nasty, but it's worth it. Now the taste doesn't even bother me.

If you are looking for alternative form of medicine, always check with a doctor before trying it. If you take other meds, it may interact poorly.
That said, take a piece of ginger root ( you can buy it at Safeway or any grocery store) about the size of a large gumball, cut it into pieces and boil it in 1-2 cups of water until it is soft and breaks down. Pour off the water into a cup and let it cool down. Pour a half of a glass of the ginger water and add pineapple juice 50%-50%. drink it. It'll knock a cold out in a day or so...also good immunity booster. Throw the ginger parts away.

You are probably at the tail end of your sickness, but there are a couple of things that you can do. First, have someone pick you up a bottle of garlic pills and a bottle of goldenseal. Both can be found at your local drugstore for around $10 - $15 total. Take Two of each of the capsules, when you first get them, then drop the dosage to one of each pill, 4 times a day - breakfast, lunch, dinner and bedtime. For the sore throat, gargle with salt water as often as you need to. This should take the sting right out. Before bed, you can use 1 tsp, of fresh lemon juice, followed by 1 tsp. of natural honey. The lemon juice will sting, but it will disinfect the area. Honey has an antimicrobial in it and will soothe and heal the throat.
I hope this helps and that you get better fast! I feel for you, dear. Take care of yourself and eat well.

Homeopathic medicine has never been proved to be an effective form of treatment as its dilution principles defy basic principles of chemistry and has never been proven effective by the FDA. Have you talked to a physician about the illness? It may not be a cold it could also be that your allergic to something that is persisting in your environment. Talk to your doctor. It seems what would work best would be some prescription drugs like Cortisone (If allergies) Amoxicilan ( If bacterial infection) and a little bit of codeine phosphate. You can only get these from a doctor so talk about it with your physician. If flem is yellow it may be a bacterial or viral infection, HOWEVER IF YOUR FLEM IS LACED WITH BLOOD OR CONSISTS ENTIRELY OF BLOOD OR IF YOUR COUGH MAKES A "WHOOPING NOISE" SEE YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY. THESE MAYBE SIGNS OF MORE FATAL ILLNESSES.

It sounds to me like you have the flu and you are going to have to wait it all out. Consume lots of juices (vitamin C) and eat well. If you have that nasty cough with it try sprinkling white vinegar on your pillow case and let it dry. It should help you cough less during the night.
