I am a catholic and firmly against contriception, my husband is lutheran and supportive of my desisions regarding my body. We have agreed to start using natural family planning but I don't know where to start. I got a pamphlet from my parish but no one has called me back.
Any advise or websites I can go to for more information?

Hi, we used natural family planning for years (3) to not get pregnant, then when we decided to start trying it helped us get pregnant. Do an internet search for basal body temperature and learn how to accurately chart. You'll need a digital thermometer that goes to 2 decimal points.

Well, you could start by tracking your body tempurature for a month. keep a calender and thermometer next to your bed and each morning when you wake up take your temp and write it down. Then, write down the days of your period as well. The day you ovulate, you should see a temperature spike on the calender. You are most fertile the three days before and three days after ovulation (not the mention the day you ovulate). I would recommend tracking your temp for a few months to make sure you ovulate consitantly. It's a lot of work!!

I am also catholic and my husband (who is church of scotland) also is respectful of my wishes to not use birth control. We have been married for 18 months. I am pregnant with our second child. Just keep that in mind!!!

We have decided to "see what God gives us" for the next few years...but once our family is "complete"...my husband says is getting the "big snip!" :)

Keep calling. Start charting your cycle. You should ovulate about 14 days before the start of your period. Type in "Natural Family Planning" (quotes and all) into a search engine. Tons of stuff will come up. Talk to your doctor. He can help you chart your cycle correctly. Keep calling your church or another nearby church that has classes.

Natural family planning usually ends up with a child.
